Now in its fifth year, the AXA Health Tech & You Awards Programme has been hugely successful in driving proactive consumer engagement in health and supporting innovation in this area.

Amid a climate of significant developments in technology, changing consumer attitudes and increasing focus on wellness and preventative health, the AXA Health Tech & You Awards created four new categories to recognise entrepreneurs in both early-stage start-ups and later stage businesses who are changing the way people think about their health, while helping to solve the big problems in healthcare.

The new ‘Innovation’ category is geared to recognise pioneers in early-stage start-ups and the other ‘Excellence’ category will focus on later stage businesses. The third category to launch is on mental health in children and AXA are seeking solutions that can support children and/or their parents in understanding and managing mental health. The fourth category addresses sleep problems and for this AXA are looking for affordable tools proven to change behaviour and deliver better sleeping patterns.

These new categories will be underpinned by principles embracing diversity, health equality and social inclusion. Entries will be judged in accordance with how the entrepreneurs have succeeded in making a difference to people’s lives through their innovative approach and attention to creating solutions to address significant unmet consumer needs.

Overall, the 2019 AXA Health Tech & You Awards programme is looking for standalone solutions to help citizens take charge of their health and wellbeing, as well as smart applications that enrich the relationship between people and their carers (whether health professionals, friends or family). AXA is working with Collider Health and The Bakery with support from our partners including Women of Wearables, One HealthTech and Our Mobile Health to discover exciting and innovative health technology.
