Strategy REFRESH

Guess what? We've got some exciting news to share with you! One HealthTech is back - and we’re refreshing the community and want to hear from you.

You might not have noticed (we certainly did!), but OHT has been a bit quieter than pre-pandemic. 2020 provided us with a great opportunity to step back (in the unique circumstance of a pandemic happening in the background) and really examine what we are, how we do what we do, and where we want to head. At the time, none of us predicted the pandemic would have all the impacts it did, and in hindsight, we really under-estimated the impact on OHT. Communities like ours, designed to bring people together in local, physical locations to share, learn and inspire really took a knock. And whilst we moved so much of OHT online, it wasn’t quite the same. So, here we are, refreshing OHT in a post-pandemic world. Get ready folks, we’re back.

We know that OHT is nothing without our amazing community. That's why we want to make sure that we're creating a space that works for you. Whether you're looking for more opportunities to connect, learn, or new projects to sink your teeth into, we want to hear your thoughts, opinions, and ideas.

To make sure we're getting the best insights possible, we're inviting you to participate in a survey and focus groups. These will be fun, interactive sessions where we'll chat about everything from community events, future projects, to engagement strategies. And the best part? You'll get to hang out with other members of our awesome community!

Our goal is to make our community even more vibrant, engaging, and impactful. We want to make sure that you're getting the most out of OHT, and that you're connecting with other like-minded individuals who share your passions and interests.

So, what are you waiting for? Take our survey and sign up for our focus group sessions today (spots are limited, so don't wait!). We can't wait to hear what you have to say!

If I join a focus group session what commitment are you asking for?

  • We ask that before coming to the session you participate in the survey - this should only take 10 mins

  • The focus group session will last approximately one hour

  • After the call we will collate the results from the survey and the two focus group sessions. Those in the focus group will be the first to receive the feedback and will be asked to help determine next steps.

  • You will be added into a temporary slack channel in order to vote, discuss and help shape the next phase of OHT.

A little more background…

Still reading? Wonderful!

In order to understand where we are, we need to look back at two key pieces of work done during the pandemic that we are refreshing to guide us through the next phase.

1. The OHT Strategy

In 2020, we ran a community-wide, co-created strategy exercise. So much of what we decided still stands, we just needed the world to return a bit more to normal to really put it all into action. Now seems like the perfect time to refresh our strategy, refine any bits that have now changed and build up momentum

A REFRESHED version of this strategy can be found here so check it out

2. Campaigns

Crucially, the strategy saw the design and launch of two key pillars of OHT, Campaigns and the Fellowship, which didn’t manage to find their feet in a pandemic-filled world. One Campaign that did launch and was an all round great success, was the HealthTech Toolkit Campaign . This campaign ran in 2021 by a team of 6 OHT volunteers. Using a mixture of literature searching, surveys and workshops these volunteers set out to develop a collection of professional learning and development resources designed to reduce barriers to professional development for represented groups in health innovation.

We are using the solutions developed during this Campaign to create a masterlist of potential Campaigns for individuals, groups or Hubs to take forward.

I am very much abbreviating all the amazing work of this Campaign, the findings of which were submitted as evidence to a Parliamentary Working Group on Diversity in STEM

How can I get involved?
